The U.S. Supreme Court – An Addendum

Our recent publication, “Should Justice Clarence Thomas Be Investigated for Ethical Lapse,” sparked a conversation among our readers about the need for a code of ethics to govern the conduct of Supreme Court Justices.

We are proud to announce that 52% of our readers believe that the Supreme Court must have a robust code of ethics for its Justices and that Justice Thomas must face an investigation. The national polls conducted by other entities also echoed this sentiment, as most Americans desire greater accountability from the Supreme Court.

Since our publication, Justice Thomas has admitted to not disclosing private jet trips, including one to attend a speech in Texas – from billionaire Harlan Crow – and taking a vacation in his luxurious New York real estate. Additionally, Thomas acknowledges that Crow bought his family home where Thomas’ mother has lived rent-free and paid for a relative’s private school tuition. These revelations only strengthen the case for a code of ethics and investigation of Justice Thomas.

The recent revelations about Justice Thomas’ acceptance of lavish gifts from wealthy donors have shed light on a more significant problem within the Supreme Court. They have also implicated Justice Alito in the scheme. Consequently, the court, a once-revered institution, has yet to take any steps to address the pressing issue of Corruption – it seems — within its ranks. It’s business as usual, and it needs to change.

We urge all readers to act and call upon their friends and relatives to urge their congressional representatives to hold public hearings to elicit general thoughts and opinions on the matter. We must stem Corruption at the highest level of our judiciary. It’s time for action to by all.
